Children lie for all the same reasons adults lie. They lie to get out of trouble. They lie to make themselves look better? And they lie to protect someone. And they lie to get someone in trouble. It is normal for young children to lie.

But it is up to parents to show children a better way by instruction and by example. Parents especially have to be careful about setting an honest example. When a mom instructs her youngster to tell grandma on the phone that she is not home, mom is encouraging her child to lie. This is a white lie and white lies are common. However, when you have little ones around the house who like to copy what mom and dad do, you have to be very careful about these little white lies.

Here is a tip. If you find your child is lying defensively in order to get out of trouble, then consider the possibility that you may be too strict. Another possibility is that you may be too intimidating when you approach your child. "DID YOU BREAK THAT GLASS!!!" Now here's a question that would scare most kids into lying. So be careful how you ask questions when you are looking for the truth.

You are write and by the way there is no such thing as white lies ,
a lie is a lie.
When prophet Mohammad (PBUH) saw a woman calling her child by saying come here and I'll give you something, He asked her if she is really going to give him something she said yes a date, then he told her if you didn't have anything to give him it would have counted as a lie.
